  1. Via a list of contacts from a client we are conducting research on behalf of, and we have permission from the client to contact you
  2. Directly from you, in the course of you participating in our surveys and/or research; this may include telephone surveys, web surveys, printed surveys, face to face interviews, or focus groups.

In these instances, the information may include your name, contact phone number, and some information relevant to our client, such as your recent donation history or your donor /volunteer experience with our client. If so, we will inform you as soon as practicable of this collection and the circumstances of this collection.

  1. From websites or other publicly available sources. The information captured from these websites will include a name, phone number, geographical location, and organisational role.
  2. When you use our website www.morestrategic.com.au and complete a Contact Form or a pop-up to obtain a specific report.

Log Files: The More Strategic website follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and are a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Cookies and Web Beacons: Like any other website, More Strategic uses ‘cookies’. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users’ experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors’ browsers. 

 

You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options however your use of the website may be affected.

Data hosted for our clients
We gather and store personal information on behalf of our clients, including on our survey and data transfer platforms.

We keep the hosted data separate from our own data and protect it with strict access controls. 

Send requests or complaints about hosted data to the organisation the personal information belongs to. If we get a request or complaint about hosted data, we’ll send it to the organisation that owns the data.

 

How we share information outside Australia
Personal information is sent overseas in limited circumstances, including to external service providers that assist our organisation, such as with internal operations (including training, website hosting or cloud storage) and market research. Under other situations, More Strategic will not send your personal information to a recipient outside Australia without obtaining your consent or otherwise complying with the APPs.

If you make an express request to us to transfer your personal information to an overseas recipient, the overseas recipient will not be required to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles, and we will not be liable for any mishandling of your information in such circumstances.

The fact that you may be located in Europe does not, however, on its own entitle you to protection under the GDPR.
